I’ve come across some pretty amazing books, websites, and people during my research.  Here are the ones that have influenced me the most.


My current Nutrition Bible is Nourishing Meals:  Healthy Gluten-Free Recipes for the Whole Family, by Alissa Segersten and Tom Malterre, MS, CN.  Here’s a link to their website, The Whole Life Nutrition Kitchen, where you can buy the cookbook.  It’s absolutely amazing and so far, every single recipe has been super delicious.

I still haven’t seen Kris Carr’s documentary, Crazy Sexy Cancer.  But I found her diet book at the library, and it was chock-full of good information that goes so far beyond diet.  She talks about epsom salt baths (to help with the magnesium deficiency that almost everyone has) and dry brushing (to support the lymphatic system).  She also has a lot to say about juicing and supplements.

Currently reading the Immune System Recovery Plan.  Lays out four steps to fight autoimmune disease:  using food as medicine, understanding your stress connection, healing your gut, and supporting your liver.  This book does a better job of explaining how the immune system works and what’s happening when it malfunctions than anything else I’ve seen since I started this process 3 years ago.

There are tons of great health/food documentaries on Netflix.  All super-motivating and informative.  Here are a few of my favorites.
